Yesterday was one of those days where I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Not only was it one hundred and seven degrees outside, but I was running around and doing errands in that icky hot heat. I drove around in my air conditioned car and when I would park and get out; the humid air would slap me in the face. It was so gross. How can it be this hot? The reason I was running around is I needed to pick up some essentials for a birthday celebration we were hosting. This summer we have the privileged to have Carlie and Dean's sister Ashlyn visiting. She came all the way from Southern California and we love having her around. At a moments notice I am always pleased to throw a party. The only problem was the ugly hot heat. I knew we were going to have all the kids running around and swimming, I just wanted to make sure that the fun could continue and I could keep these little ones hydrated. I stopped at my neighborhood CVS Pharmacy and found their Hydration Station stocked with smartwaters and vitaminwaters that I knew my kids would love. I also bought a Honest Tea for myself! I grabbed some ice and a small cooler that was able to contain my beverages:
We had four kids: Dean, Carlie, Ashlyn, and Solin. A smartwater and vitaminwater for each of them:
And a Honest Tea for me:
I created a simple summer hydration station that was placed outside and allowed the kids to get their drinks when ever they needed them. Between now and July 25th if you go to your local CVS Pharmacy and use your CVS ExtraCare card you can purchase four smartwaters, vitaminwaters, Gold Peak or Honest Tea for five dollars and receive two dollars back on your next CVS Pharmacy visit!
Ashlyn was the first to jump in because it was her birthday:
Then Carlie and Dean followed:
It took me a while to get in. The water was a little chilly. Solin wanted to cool off with me but she also wanted her smartwater too. And then she shared with mommy:
Solin is at the stage where she likes to eat like a big girl. She is done with the bottle, but she wants to drink out of the water bottle. Sometimes she even sneaks chips out of the chip bowl:
It was a great day to celebrate Ashlyn. I'm so happy all the kids were able to get together. We enjoyed a delicious cake from one of my favorite bakeries. And we added some florescent candles to match Ashlyn's decor:
