Solin's First Birthday Party

This past weekend we celebrated my daughter's first birthday. With all of the planning a preparations I am very surprised and sad that it is over. All of our family was there. Even my mother flew in from Montana! I was planning and pinning for over a month and within a couple of hours it was done. I know she won't remember it like we will. But I hope you enjoy the photos and keep the mementos as long as you can Solin Grey.
Her lace crown was from a DIY I found on pinterest HERE. I bought the lace from Hobby Lobby. And I secured the crown to some elastic I bought HERE!
Some details not to be forgotten:
Our favors consisted of jelly beans and gumballs. The jelly bean favor was an incredible idea from this PIN! And the #1 gumball cups were made with my Cricut using the cartridge you can find HERE.
I created a few country fair games and our decorations went along with the theme. We even had a delicious BBQ that my In-Laws made!
We used a pallet board for the Balloon Pop. I also cricutted the letters and glued them to the board and used a staple gun to secure each balloon. Now this game required a chaperone because we use darts to pop the balloons. But this game was very POPular!
And of course our little Solin Grey:
I bought a white onesie from Hobby Lobby HERE. And used burlap iron on letters... also found at Hobby Lobby here: O N E. The fabric was scrapes we had from an older project and we turned it into a cute lil tutu!
Her cousin Madison is only five months older than her. But they were adorable and loved on each other^^^
I wanted to stay away from cutting cake during the party. My friend Kristen made Pie Pops, Rice Krispey Pops, and Lemon Bars for all of the guests to enjoy!
However the one and only cake I baked was Solin's smash cake:
This chalk board sign was made by Paper Elephant on Etsy.
After the party was said and done. Solin did not go to bed until ten o'clock that night.

Nutrition for your Puppy

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #ProPlanPet #CollectiveBias

I finally get a chance to introduce you to the new member of our family. Her name is Cadence and she is a six month old German Shepherd. Our daughter Carlie will be training her in the youth division of K-9 protection training. Our family of five is having a hard time getting used to the new puppy. And we are learning a lot about her new routine and her specific nutritional tastes! We even have special instructions in order to increase her performance for training. During her training we can not tell her "NO!" As many times as I want to say that word, I can not. The words that are approved are "platz" & "sitz!" Truly I usually like to play with the puppy and I try to stay away from being authoritative with her. Carlie is her trainer and we have a lot of faith in what she does Monday through Friday.
As many of you know Carlie is my step daughter and occasionally she visits her mom and Cadence gets to stay with us. When Carlie leaves she gives us specific instruction to take care of her pup. We need to feed her at specific times and we need to take her out for her walk on a set schedule. And don't forget her watering bowl etc...
Well what do you do when you run out of dog food?
You take your family and your pup down to PetSmart and find the best formula right for your dog!
I love walking into PetSmart because each and every associate is welcoming and happy to help. I asked them where I could find the Purina® Pro Plan® and they directed me to the right aisle. Cadence was going wild. She loved the smell of the store and she was most definitely interested in the cat adoption area. She also knew where to find her food and knew the smell of the chicken right away! We know what type of food to purchase for Cadence because we completed our dog's My Plan Recomendation. If you would like to see what dry formula of  Purina® Pro Plan® is a best fit for your dog, find a free rebate HERE!
After walking around in the store and watching the fish swim. We took Cadence home to let her enjoy her favorite flavor of Purina® Pro Plan® Out next plan of action is to find a way to store her food.  What are some of your best tricks for storing pet food?

Happy 1st Birthday Solin Grey

365 days old. And each and every day I have watched you grow. With in this past week you have surpassed the baby stage and went straight to a toddler. You walk around mimicking everything we do. From talking on the phone to giving the dog commands. I love the way you coo when you're in a good mood and when you growl when you don't like something. Your giggles are the best. And when I come home from work and you raise your arms for me... each and everyday that melts my heart. This past year was filled with so much love and laughter. I am grateful for everything you teach me day to day. Happy Birthday Solin Grey, I love you.

My Mommy Your Grandma

Solin Grey is fortunate to have four grandmas and three of her great grandmothers in her life. She is spoiled by each and everyone of them. And if you had all of them in the same room I don't know what would happen. But the one grandmother that means the most to me is my mother. I was her first baby and Solin is my first. With my mother living so far away in the big sky country of Montana we only get to FaceTime once a week. We have reason to celebrate with Solin's first birthday coming up, so my mama/Solin's grandma came to town!
After picking her up from the airport we made another commute to the salty ocean for my mother to enjoy some of the Pacific! My mother was thrilled to see Solin waddle through the sand. Solin was courageous enough to go after a crab and seagull! It's not even summer and we have visited the ocean four or five times within the last month.... I'm not complaining.
That's three generations and one big ocean!

My Life Instagrammed

Every month I like to showcase my photos from Instagram with the hashtag #MyLifeInstagrammed. My life is clearly documented on this app and I love to go back and archive the photos or even print them out on Walgreens.com. You can print out any photo you want from your Instagram profile. Each photo is 4x4 and has really great quality! I have taken a photo of my daughter Solin every month for the last 12 months and I was able to print out each monthly photo to make a collage for her first birthday. Another one of those Pinterest ideas! Here are some of the photos if you have missed them... otherwise come and follow along @pepperexpress
These photos are from our trip to CHICO!
And when we took my sister to San Francisco:

and other random photos from my iphone:
I could just squeeze her everyday!
The best for last! My mama is now in town. She flew in on Sunday and is here to celebrate Solin's first birthday... more of that to come in the next few days!
